The President of the Cyprus Federation for Hunting, Mr. Antonis Kakoullis, can tell as much as he wants about the law-abiding execution of hunting
in Cyprus by its members and to praise in hollow words the mission of his hunting association.
The reality can be seen again on a Wednesday, 22.09.2021, when right next to our houses in Pegeia - Agios Georgios, a shot bee-eater is found, which ultimately fell victim to the shot pellets of
a law-abiding hunter.
Needless to say, we do not live in an officially approved hunting ground where the Cyprus Federation of Hunting is allowed to go about its mischief.

Kestrel, Common Kestrel, Falco tinnunculus,
shot down from the moving pickup from a power pole, directly at our house in Agios Georgios.
For these law-abiding contemporaries, hunting grounds are only a hindrance and superfluous, as birds are shot down from the moving car in cowboy style, the successful shooters do without the trophies and photogenic display with the killed birds. Who wants to be admired with shot kestrels or bee-eaters?
Not even the trappers and poachers from our environment, who are fined up to 25,000 euros and thus highly decorated, do not want to publish their Glorious Deeds in order to avoid damage to their
"Animal Lover Image".
Only there is no proof that the penalties pronounced by the department are actually paid, there are also the amigos and acquaintances who owe you a favor, or something like that....
